I have a confession. At one time in my life I worked for Microsoft.
That being said, I also confess that there are times that I just can't stand computers. I am still not sure how to do this whole blogging thing. Sometimes I think I've made changes, only to look back at my blog and see that they haven't been made. Then I go back and it says they've been made, and then I go back, and then forth, and so on... Somehow this must all be part of Bill Gate's plan to enslave my soul.
While still getting the hang of posting, I recently moved to Chicago from Texas. Here is where I begin to lay the ground work for planting churches. And here is where I keep encountering grace.
One of my church musicians from Texas has decided to move to Chicago, so an important part of the worship minsitry just dropped out of the sky.
A congregational consultant has taken an interest in my ministry, and has decided to publish an essay I wrote in his upcoming book. (I'll have to figure out whether I can legally publish the essay on this blog)
In just scouting (which really means hanging out) some neighborhoods in northwest Chicago I have begun to build some relationships as well as interest in my ministry.
I have landed a part time consulting ministry that will pay me enough to live, while giving me enough time to follow my church planting dream.
And finally, Chicago is a lot nicer in the Summer than southeast Texas. (Thank You God!)
That's just a quick update. The next two months are going to be filled with a lot of personal joy as I get married to the love of my life. I hope to put out parts of the essay that I'm getting published which is much more of a spiritual testimony than this post.
